Palin told the truth ...

You can see Russia from Alaska. I mean, it's dark there right now I think and the idea that this factoid gives her foreign policy experience is beyond ridiculous, but she actually said something that withstood journalistic scrutiny. Now, there's a man-bites-dog story.

What's next, insightful analysis from McCain on the economy?

Pic from here.

Big Diomede and Little Diomede are only about a mile apart, and they’re visible to each other when it’s not dark or foggy.

On the other hand, I doubt that very few Russians would see Big Diomede as “Russia”. Most people don’t think of Alaska as “America” either.

Thanks. So, there's some exaggeration in spirit if not lying in here? Noted.

Of course, there's no evidence that she's ever been to Little Diomede, so does it count that she lives in a state where *other people* can see Russia?

Good point. I was TRYING to give her a break. She's certainly not claiming to have been to Russia, and probably if she had SEEN Russia, she'd stretch it into having been there!
