Possible WOTY? Adhocracy?

A colleague just passed on the word as new to her. It gets 79K g-hits, including a wikipedia entry, here. I don't know how old it is, but it's ever-relevant, certainly.

Image, obviously, from Amazon.

The coinage is Alvin Toffler's, I believe, although he spelled it with a dash in the title to Chapter 7 (Organization: The Coming Ad-hocracy) of his 1970 Future Shock (1970; Random House, p. 124).

It's become standard in the organisational science literature since, and I know at least of a couple of uses in the sociology of science.

Ahhh, thanks. That would make sense ... it fits Toffler.
