Immigrants learning English
Just passed on by a member of Team Verb. We have mountains of evidence that immigrants to this country are doing everything they can to learn English, and here's yet more evidence for the point:

They want to because they need to.
The major question is, who still thinks they're not trying to learn English?
It is certainly being asserted in some media outlets that they aren't and in public outreach talks, I still hear the point occasionally.
Typically now it's being phrased somewhat less directly, like stuff about immigrants 'expecting to be served in their own languages'. Here's a mild example:
