Science has a new piece on the domestication of horses,
here (for those who can access it). You may recall that this plays a key role in David Anthony's book
The Horse, the Wheel and Language, about the Indo-European homeland. The new article presents evidence dating domestication to around 3,500 BCE, in line with what I think Anthony argues.
