forgive my ignorance - I dont quite understand how the budget bill affects UW so directly? could you elaborate a bit on that?
This is a 'budget repair bill' which actually strips all rights to collective bargaining from all university employees, from graduate student workers up.
again - apologies - I am a grad student at a private university, as far as I know neither the grads nor employees or faculty have any sort of unions or the like.
The end result of this would then be wage decreases across the board for all state employees - including UW top to bottom?
We're facing near double-digit decreases in compensation at all levels, yes.

Why not go after teachers - after all they're all so over-payed - geez. Good luck in the capitol tomorrow/today.
Thanks. This is a struggle with national consequences, I suspect, but one of tremendous importance to a lot of people here.
