For those who don't read Madison's last remaining print daily, the Wisconsin State Journal is running a series on Indian languages in the state. So far, it's been good, far better than the usual newspaper account, at least from my perspective: It lays out the history of boarding schools, which many stories seem to neglect, and it is rich in quotes from a variety of Native peoples — speakers, semi-speakers and learners.
Here's a link to the current part of the four-part series.
